holy work

A Letter to the Overwhelmed Mama in the Messy Middle

This is for you. The mama who’s running on fumes, full of love, and just trying to make it through the day.

To the Overwhelmed Mama: You’re Not Alone

I see you. Standing in the kitchen with a cold cup of coffee, trying to remember what you were doing before someone started crying. You’re tired. You’re touched out. You’re wondering if you’re doing any of this right.

Let me tell you something I wish someone had told me:
You’re not failing. You’re just in the thick of it.
This season of life? It’s chaos, crumbs, and cuddles — all wrapped into one. You’re balancing meals, tantrums, laundry piles, and expectations that no one could ever realistically meet. And yet, here you are, showing up every single day.

You don’t need to be the perfect mom. Your kids don’t need perfect. They need you — the snack-bringer, the boo-boo kisser, the safe place when the world feels too big.

So breathe. Cry if you need to. Dance in the kitchen with your babies even if the floor is sticky. Laugh at the mess. Call it magic.
You are doing holy work in the most ordinary moments.
Even when no one sees it — it matters.
Even when you feel invisible — you are irreplaceable.
From one mama deep in the chaos to another:
I’m proud of you. You are not alone.

With love,
Dakota

Welcome to the Chaos

Welcome to the beautiful chaos of motherhood. These have been the most meaningful years of my life—messy, magical, and full of unforgettable moments. Every day brings a new adventure, whether it’s an impromptu toddler activity, a kitchen experiment with little hands helping, or just the everyday whirlwind of raising tiny humans. I started this blog because motherhood isn’t a one-size-fits-all experience, and I wanted to share a piece of my own journey—honest, imperfect, and full of love. From creative play ideas to real-life parenting wins (and fails), I’m excited to have you along for the ride.

💬 I’d love to hear from you!
What’s something you wish another mom had told you during the hard days?
Or—what words would *you* say to a fellow overwhelmed mama right now?

Drop it in the comments below. Let’s lift each other up, one crumb-covered day at a time. 💛
